It’s time for Kobe Bryant to put the storytelling advice he apparently gets from Steven Spielberg to good use, as he’s set to pair with ESPN to debut Canvas, which The Worldwide Leader describes as a “special new content initiative.”
Bryant will serve as the creator, director, and writer for the video shorts, which is set to debut the first of their six brief presentations on this upcoming Sunday afternoon. Specifically, you can check it out during the 2 p.m. E.T. NBA Countdown, which airs prior to the 2:30 p.m. E.T. Finals rematch between the Warriors and Cavs.
Each episode of Canvas will feature an on-court topic from the NBA. The introductory vid will be called “Guarding the Greats,” and will concentrate on how one should go about guarding the top NBA players just so you can be prepared if that situation were to somehow come up in your life. Afterward the Countdown crew will speak on the subject matter.
Additionally, Bryant will provide his voice to a Spanish-version set to air on ESPN Deportes later on in the network’s all-day Christmas coverage. You can catch that at 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. E.T., respectively. The rest of Canvas’s five episodes/clips will be shown throughout the remainder of this season, including broadcasts during big-time regular season matchups, as well as airings during the playoffs and Finals.
